My latest, RECKONING AT RAINROCK, has just been released by Wild Oaks/Oak Treee Press. It is available now in a print edition and an eBook format will follow in a few weeks.

The is the second adventure for my former Indian scout, Lone McGantry, who first appeared in last year's DISMAL RIVER. Once again, most of the action takes place in western Nebraska, with one brief but memorable foray into Colorado. Ultimately, everything comes to a shattering climax in the barren Toadstool Badlands.

If you like good old-fashioned Western action done with a contemporary flair, then I think you'll like this one. But don't take my word for it. Here is what some advanced readers had to say about RAINROCK:

"A topnotch Western by a writer who knows the territory" - Bill Crider, author of the Sheriff Dan Rhodes mysteries and several titles in the Rancho Diablo series.

"It's as if the spirit of Lous L'Amour has visited big Wayne Dundee" - Michael A. Black, author of The Incredible Adventures of Doc Atlas.

"Sharply defined characters, a plot that keeps you guessing what kind of trouble comes next, and plenty of action makes this a must-read contribution to the genre" - John R. Lindermuth, author of Fallen From Grace.

"A gritty, unflinching tale of revenge and redemption ... Don't let anyone tell you the Western is dead. Wayne Dundee is one of the reasons the genre is not only alive but thriving" - James Reasoner, author of Texas Wind and Redemption, Kansas.

"To its expertly woven tapestry of character and plot, add rich, vibrant action that cuts across the bolt like a glistening knife ... Reckoning At Rainrock takes a prominent place on my bookshelf of favorite Westerns" - Richard Prosch, author of Meadows Ford Blues.

"A rousing good story full of twists and turns ... Sure to engage your emotions, you won't want to put it down" - C.K. Crigger, author of Two Feet Below and forthcoming Three Seconds To Thunder.

I am humbled and, of course, very grateful for these kind words.
I hope you will give RAINROCK a try and, if you do, I hope you find it to your liking as well.
